Covid – 19 Precautions
Dear members the management team have received from ACC London the latest legislation on what to do from Monday 19th July.
When entering the club, face coverings will not be necessary anymore, but you as a individual can make that choice to wear one or not.
Track and trace will not be required but NHS have said on a voluntary basis you can use the App or sign in on the sheet provided, so the club will keep this up and running as before on a voluntary basis.
The tables will be removed from the front of bar so you can purchase your drinks before your sit down, there will be no standing or drinking at the bar this is to protect the staff in which the club have a duty of care for them not to be exposed to any unwanted virus, also staff will be required to wear face coverings while on duty unless they have an exemption certificate.
The seating area will stay as it was if more tables or chairs are required, they can be fetched from the back function room.
Just a word of caution the virus has not gone away so with that in mind the sanitising stations will be kept in place for you to use and keep safe on a voluntary basis.
If you need more information, contact club secretary or any members of the management team.
just to finish off if any members are not well or been in contact with the virus please do not come into the club until it is safe to do so.
Bingo will be held in the function room from Saturday 17th July.
The management committee have decided to move Saturday night’s bingo to be played in the back function room on a month’s trail.
The reason for this is to free up space in the main lounge so members can come up early and enjoy the comforts of home watch tv chat with your friends and enjoy a drink or two without numbers being shouted down your ears.
For Wednesday bingo to start again we need a few volunteers to assist with running the bingo like calling the numbers etc. Anyone interested please contact the management team.
A few volunteer vacancies post that needs to be filled to help keep the club on a financial footing.
Bingo callers for Saturdays or Wednesdays one session a month.
A car park attendant required for when Exeter City football club are playing at home, Saturdays only 12 noon to 3pm there will be a small remuneration for doing this post.
Some committee members have volunteered as Football car park marshals many thanks to all the volunteers that came forward.

Annual general meeting
Our AGM which is usually end of March will be Friday 10th September 7:30pm
We also could do with some new members on committee, we are short in numbers to run the club so why not come forward to help & take the pressure off the present management team.
If interested, please get in touch with anyone on the committee and we will let you know of any information you will need to know.
At this year’s AGM Al & Sylvia will be giving notice that they will be standing down from the office of Club secretary & treasurer at the 2022 AGM.
if there are any members out there interested in taking on
the Club secretary or treasure job please speak to Al or Sylvia and they will give you a run down what needs to be done.
Just to remind you that with guidance from ACC there were several options put on the table.
A virtual text meeting took place with a vote on which option to take it was option five.
That is all paid up members for year 2020 will be valid for the year 2021 and to be renewed January 2022.
Put in plain English no subs will be collected this year.
Disputed electricity costs
The secretary is about to commit suicide over a massive electric bill for the bar manager’s flat for the last quarter total £2,900.00 approx., they say the meter is correct.
I asked Anthony’s are we supplying electric for streetlights.
The answer was no, so back to square one, on the phone for over an hour to find out where it went.
I told them the meter must be faulty they said they do not go wrong if they do it favours the customer rather than the supplier.
I can feel the noose getting tighter around my neck, they said they will look at our accounts and get back to me, four days gone still nothing so another hour on the phone telling them to put a hold on the Account and not to take any money out of our bank account because you will bankrupt us.
We have just come out of lockdown and been closed for the last seven months.
Now you may be asking why this is happening now, and the answer is I have been for the last two years trying to get a smart meter for the flat usage, because the bills were getting more and more every quarter and had my suspicions the meter was faulty.
Low and behold they came and fitted one on the 26th May, the new meter has been in place for two months now and I am using the new readings against the old one which is a lot lower on a daily usage compared to the old one and nothing has changed in the flat according to Anthony so the case goes on.
