New Years message from the management committee

The management committee are wishing all our members and families a happy and prosperous new year.

Well this year has been a difficult year in trading, what with the club being closed for the first five months due to COVID-19 restrictions, thanks to the government the club was doing well with grants available to us while the club was closed.

The club doors were back open at the end of May no more grants available and staff taken off furlough. So we are back on our own, the footfall in the club as dropped dramatically due to Covid-19 bar receipts down.

The bills still had to be paid, but it’s not all doom and gloom the surplus grant money is offsetting some of the losses but it won’t last for long if we can’t get the footfall back up into the club, So make a new year’s resolution I must support my club, and go up for a social drink and chat.

The other thing I need to remind you of is that at the last AGM I as club secretary will be standing down at the end of March AGM 2022 and that also includes the club treasurer, so anyone interested in the posts please come forward so we can tell you what the position entails.

Best regards from the management team.

As you know the Annual membership subscriptions were suspended for the year 2021 but in order to keep the club in a good financial position we need our members to renew their club membership this year.

For updates

Bingo will be held in the function room from Saturday 17th July.

The management committee have decided to move Saturday night’s bingo on a trail basis to be played in the back function room, the reason for this is to free up space in the main lounge so members can come up early and enjoy the comforts of home watch tv chat with your friends and enjoy a drink or two without numbers being shouted down your ears.

Club Draws

Internal fundraising by means of the bonus ball, spirit draw, play your cards and find the Joker, just a reminder the club takes a percentage from each ticket or space sold to help pay the bills we receive every month, so please support your club.

Due to low attendances at the club the management committee has decided that some of the draws maybe carried over to the following week if the amount of draws sold is not sufficient.

Because of this it has been decided that the rule stating that if the winner of the find the Joker draw is not in attendance the amount won will be reduced by 50% has been withdrawn.

From now on when the find the Joker draw is drawn the full amount will be paid the the winner even if the winner is not in attendance.

Dear members the management team have received from ACC London the latest legislation on what to do from Monday 19th July

When entering the club, face coverings will not be necessary any more, but you as a individual can make that choice to wear one or not.

Track and trace will not be required but NHS have said on a voluntary basis you can use the App or sign in on the sheet provided, so the club will keep this up and running as before on a voluntary basis.

The tables will be removed from the front of bar so you can purchase your drinks before your sit down, there will be no standing or drinking at the bar this is to protect the staff in which the club have a duty of care for them not to be exposed to any unwanted virus, also staff will be required to wear face coverings while on duty unless they have a exemption certificate.

The seating area will stay as it was if more tables or chairs are required they can be fetch from the back function room.

Just a word of caution the virus has not gone away so with that in mind the sanitising stations will be kept in place for you to use and keep safe on a voluntary basis.
